CHROMA: Celbrating Colour
APRIL 24 - MAY 18 2025
CHROMA is an exhibition about colour and a celebration of all things bright, all things colourful. It’s a showcase of artists whose work is marked by a distinct use of this element. Every artist in this selection has a special relationship with colour and through their continued practice each has developed a unique voice and language for this aspect of their work. Of all the shows at Market Gallery so far, this is our most vibrant, and the showcase we’ve put together definitely packs a punch; but our collection is also interspersed with delicate and thought-provoking pieces. Some of our artists use colour to excite the senses while others stimulate the subtle emotions.
There is a wonderful array of media within this exhibition. There are abstract works in mixed media; wooden sculptures, incorporating found materials; origami, as well as traditional oil-on-canvas paintings. A true kaleidoscope of artistic approaches, but all drawn together by a love and fascination with the rich world of colour.
Exhibiting artists for CHROMA include: Denise Cronin, Éadaoin Glynn, Helen Condon, Keith O’Brien, Mary Butler, Sabina Lucas, Sachiko Kobayashi, Sammy Kane, Serge Le Belge, and Tereza Sterbova.
