Open call for our February exhibition: “From the Heart.”
We are looking for submissions in any media which relate to the exhibition title.

WHERE TO BEGIN?
If you aspire to exhibit your work at Market Gallery, you can submit to our regular open calls. We rarely accept general submissions from artists – this is due to our limited space as well as the ongoing volume of submissions sent to the gallery each week. We therefore recommend all aspiring applicants to submit through the open calls.
Our featured exhibition changes every 5-6 weeks, and the majority of these exhibitions are open call. All our open calls are posted on the Market Gallery website and Instagram. They are also sent through the gallery mailing list (you can request to be added if you wish to receive notifications).
Gallery commission is 44%.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
If you wish to submit, please send samples of your work to the gallery email: marketgallery@douglasvillage.ie
You may contact us on Instagram for queries etc, but all artist submissions must be made by email. We will not accept artwork submitted by Instagram or by WhatsApp message. You can call to the gallery and show your work in person if you wish (please contact gallery to arrange an appointment) – but this must be followed up by an official email submission.
If you are responding to an open call, please type “Open Call Response -” (followed by the exhibition title) in the subject line of your email.
Attach images of your artwork and include the dimensions, media, and titles of the individual works. For works on paper, indicate whether they are framed/unframed.
We must be able to download your images to our gallery database. Therefore, please send your images as attachments. Do not send a link to your website/Instagram/online store as your submission image. You can include these as an addition if you wish, but such links will not be accepted in place of an attached image as we cannot download these pages to a submission folder.
If you have an artist bio and CV, please include these as well.
Submissions made after the open call deadline will not be accepted.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW MANY ARTWOKRS CAN I INCLUDE IN MY SUBMISSION? IS THERE A LIMIT?
You can submit up to 10 images.
DOES MY ARTWORK NEED TO BE FRAMED?
Works on box canvas or board do not need to be framed as long as there is an easy way to hang them in the gallery.
With regard to works on paper, we are much more likely to select work that is framed. However, depending on the nature of the artwork, we do accept unframed work in certain rare cases. If you do not intend to frame a work on paper, you must indicate that the image is unframed in your submission.
WHAT IS THE GALLERY COMMISSION?
As we are a commercial gallery, all work selected for display will be for sale. Total commission is 44%.
WILL I BE NOTIFIED IF MY WORK IS NOT SELECTED?
All applicants will receive a confirmation email stating that their submission has been received and saved on file. This can take up to 7 days. If you do not receive a confirmation email in this time period you may contact the gallery to check your submission status. Once the exhibition line up has been selected, all applicants will be contacted to confirm whether or not they have been chosen for the current open call selection.
